Work Begins On The Prestigious Hazelmere Gardens

The Prestigious Hazelmere Gardens

One of our latest projects has seen us begin work on one of the most prestigious new housing developments in Clitheroe, set against the backdrop of the beautiful Ribble Valley. Our Director Architect, Stuart Herd RIBA, designed Hazelmere Gardens, a collection of bespoke-designed three bedroom luxury homes, and is now overseeing the building work, which is well underway.

Sat at the heart of Clitheroe town centre’s conservation areas, the new development sees the creation of three contemporary dwellings designed for luxury living. Furthermore, the properties are set in the grounds of Hazelmere, one of Clitheroe’s Buildings of Townscape Merit, with automated gated access off Pimlico Road and easy access to shops, restaurants, wine bars and amenities.

About the project, Stuart Herd says:

“The key to obtaining planning consent for this scheme was producing a design which was respectful of Hazelmere - in terms of getting the appropriate scale, massing and appearance of the proposed buildings. It was also essential to get the right positioning for the dwellings within this site, to preserve the feeling of openness and greenery - which is part of the charm of this area off Pimlico Road. We achieved this by setting the buildings back sufficiently into the site and ensuring the development didn’t affect existing mature trees.”

Much of the groundwork has already been completed and Sunderland Peacock & Associates are excited to see the walls now built up and work on first floor structures complete. Over the next few weeks, our contractor is preparing to continue work on the developments, starting with the steel roof structure on The Coach House - perhaps the most contemporary of the property layouts. Featuring an open plan first floor living, dining and kitchen area, alongside innovative new design, it’s certainly one property to watch out for – so keep your eye out for our next updates!
