St James’ Church, Tosside

This unique project was grant funded and involved the complete re-ordering of this modest little isolated church, which was designed to serve monthly services and for groups visiting to look at the impressive interpretation exhibition which was set up at the west end of the building. The feature oak pews were designed with swinging backs to provide the required flexibility for people to sit as part of a church service, or to sit and observe the exhibition at the back of the building.

This project also involved the installation of a 11KW wind turbine which was positioned behind the church which was designed to provide sufficient electrical energy for lighting inside the church and with electrical heaters to allow surplus electrical energy to be ‘dumped’ rather than lost!
